The Program and Training designed for me has always challenged me to step outside of my Comfort Zone physically, mentally and emotionally, while at the same time letting me see what life has to offer rather than what it has been taken away from me.

While traveling down the roads that life has taken me, the Martial Arts Center for Health has been there every step of the way for the last 15 years.

My in school training and one - on -one training with Thomas Curtin, has helped me stay balanced through many roadblocks. Helping me stay mentally sound and physically strong with both feet on the ground forging straight ahead. I am a busy 55-year-old Optometric Physician, a Dedicated Husband, Father of two teenage children, and an Instructor at the Center.

I would not be in a very pleasant state right now, were it not for my training. For I have had several upsets through the years. To name a few, I had damaged my knees in my twenties from improper Martial Arts instruction. I was no longer able to participate in sports and intermittently had to walk with a cane.

In 1996 I had a very serious injury, resulting in three Herniated Discs in my lower back. This left me, at that time, with a limited range of motion and pain and muscle spasms in my leg daily for almost one and a half years. Most recently within the last five years, a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis, presenting a host of new curves in my road.

The Program and Training designed for me has always challenged me to step outside of my Comfort Zone physically, mentally and emotionally, while at the same time letting me see what life has to offer rather than what it has been taken away from me.

The end result has always been a positive growth. I have a feeling of Well Being that continues to flourish on a daily basis in all aspects, no doubt, because of my ongoing training at the Center. If it were not for my training, I might be thinking like many other individuals that Relaxation Time and Self Improvement would be TV and responding to Infomercials.

Seeing patients and meeting many people on a regular basis that just accept where they are in life and expect to change themselves with pharmaceuticals, or worse do nothing at all, strengthens my belief that I am fortunate to be taught here. I see a little bit of myself in every student that walks through the front door of the Center.

This is a positive environment that enables one to grow, be challenged, strengthened, form clarity of mind, and build lasting friendships. This is definitely Wellness Care. It is an honor to be part of a team of Conscientious Instructors.
